一、by后接時(shí)間點(diǎn)，多表示“到何時(shí)為止動(dòng)作已完成”；例如：
- By last year, the Yellowstone wolf population had grown to more than 170 wolves. 截至去年，黃石國(guó)家公園中狼的數(shù)量已經(jīng)增加到了170多只。
- By the end of the sixth grade,Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class. 到六年級(jí)結(jié)束時(shí)，特迪已成為班上最聰明的孩子之一。
二、till/until用在肯定句中時(shí)，表示“直到……為止”; 用在否定句中時(shí)，表示“直到……才”；例如：
- I went to the Red-headed Club’s office at 10 am and stayed till 2 pm. 我上午10點(diǎn)去了紅發(fā)會(huì)的辦公室，并一直待到下午2點(diǎn)。
- They told her to stay still until the emergency personnel arrived. 他們告訴她要在緊急救援人員到達(dá)之前保持不動(dòng)。
- I did not realize how right my parents were until I entered high school. 直到進(jìn)入了高中，我才意識(shí)到我父母當(dāng)時(shí)的做法是多么正確。
