這個詞一般不用于進行時。
1. 表示“感激”“贊賞”等，通常為及物動詞，其后可接名（代）詞、動名詞、名詞性從句等作賓語，但不能接不定式。如：
I'd appreciate some help.
如果有人幫忙我將非常感激。
Your support is greatly appreciated.
十分感謝你的支持。
[V -ing] I don't appreciate being treated like a second-class citizen.
我不愿被人當作二等公民。
[VN -ing] We would appreciate you letting us know of any problems.

2. 作“感激、感謝”其后只能接“事”作賓語，而不能接appreciate 人 for one’s help 結構；若要用類似結構，可考慮用動詞thank等。比較：

誤：We appreciate you for your help.
正：He thanked her for her help. 他感謝她的幫助。
誤：He thanked her help.
但是，直接 人作賓語是可以的：
They obviously appreciate you very much
